Financial Planning Process

The value of financial advice is not just about the initial advice you receive; ongoing service, review and assistance ensures your plan remains on track. Our teams work together to provide you with a comprehensive financial plan, implementation of your advice and a dedicated review program to maximise your ability to meet your objectives now and in the future.

Our Financial Planning process will take you through the following steps to ensure your plan is appropriate for you and your personal circumstances:

1. Collect financial data - current position

We will send you a confirmation of your appointment time, a copy of our Financial Services Guide (FSG) and a Lifestyle Questionnaire for you to complete and post back to us. The Lifestyle Questionnaire provides us with some basic information about you and your financial situation prior to the first appointment.

2. Determine achievable goals and Identify hurdles

During this first meeting you and your Adviser will discuss the information in your Lifestyle Questionnaire and help us find out more about what type of investor you are, your financial situation and goals. At the end of the initial meeting your Adviser will provide you with a summary of the approach to meet your needs and the cost involved. We will ask you to instruct us at this point if you want to proceed with a personal financial plan, also called a Statement of Advice.

3. Develop a Financial Plan

Should you elect to have some written advice prepared, we will provide this to you in the form of a Statement of Advice (SOA). This document not only outlines our advice, it also identifies the risks and costs of the advice also.

4. Implementation

Once you have received your SOA, you can choose to meet with your Financial Planner to have the details of the advice explained to you. Once you have agreed with what will be implemented, we will arrange for all of the necessary paperwork to be signed and implemented.

5. Ongoing review

Our review team will organise structured review appointments with you at least annually, to ensure the original recommendations remain appropriate for you over time. Changes to legislation, the investment climate or economic environment mean that a Financial Plan needs to be reviewed regularly.
